DOMESTIC & GENERAL GRADUATE INTERN PROGRAMME 2016

At Domestic & General, we’ve been protecting people’s possessions for over 60 years. As the UK’s leading specialist warranty provider, we’re passionate about taking care of our customers and their products when things go wrong – we see it as our mission to take the worry out of breakdowns.

With more than 15 million customers in the UK and internationally, we work with major domestic appliance manufacturers like Bosch, Siemens, Indesit and Vaillant. We also provide the only insurance in the UK endorsed by Sky.

This is a great time to work for Domestic & General. Winners of the 10th Annual Sunday Times Grant Thornton Top Track 250, we’ve now moved into The Sunday Times HSBC Top Track 100 league table of Britain’s private companies with the biggest sales. And we have ambitious plans for growth for the next five years. The graduate interns that we bring in now will be involved in delivering the future of our company, and really will have the chance to make a difference.

Opportunities for 2016

This year, we'll be recruiting interns into our Marketing, Commercial Finance, Human Resources and IT departments. We are also, for the first time, offering Contact Centre Project opportunities in either Brighton or Nottingham. If that's you, you'll spend four months working on real business projects designed to help drive our business forward. You'll have a genuine opportunity to showcase what you can do, but we’ll also make sure you learn new skills while you work alongside great people who are experts in their field. Towards the end of the four months, you'll have the opportunity to be considered for a permanent position, so there's a real chance you could be on the path to a long term future with a market leading company.

You can expect more from us:
* We know you have bills to pay, and we expect to benefit from your contribution, so all our interns are paid above the London Living Wage.
* We'll invest in you by putting you through a range of 'soft skills' training, in areas like time management, self-awareness, communication and presentation skills
* You'll have a real chance of a permanent job – we’ll have a number of permanent roles available for those who shine during their intern programme
* If for some strange reason you’re not interested in a permanent role with us, or if you're not successful, you'll still have great work experience for your CV, and a better understanding of what you do want to do with your career
* We like to think we offer a great place to work – have a look round our website and you’ll see that last year’s interns think so too.

We'll expect more from you:
* You'll be on track for, or already have a minimum 2.1 degree or equivalent in any subject
* You'll need great analytical skills or a flair for creativity and design
* A focus on team work is a must
* You’ll be digitally adept
* You'll have the intellect, drive and ambition to be brilliant; the ability to work at pace, manage changing priorities and stay positive, and a real will to challenge and learn.
